Postmodern Rabbit Earrings
The appropriation of everyday objects is a hallmark of such postmodern artists as Jeff Koons and Claus Oldenburg. Koons, in particular, embraced what the Japanese call kawaii or cuteness. Where Koons and Oldenburg explored three-dimensional shapes, these earrings explore flat planes arriving at a new way to see the quotidian.
